Spelling

This section contains several tools to help students with their spelling. The "Basic Spelling Rules" provide an overview of the worksheets and can be printed for each student. Each worksheet illustrates one of the spelling rules. There are both teacher's copies and blank student copies of the worksheets. These blank forms can be filled in as words are encountered that fit the rules, or they can be filled in as worksheets with suggestions from the teacher's worksheet.
Spelling Assignment Sheets are also provided. Words may be assigned based on misspellings in composition or on the basis of a graded word list or a language arts program. Write the words that need to be studied in the first column. Older students simply follow the directions for practice and testing given at the top of the page for each day of the week. The Spelling Assignment Sheet for Younger Children is a simplified version.
